I recently tried out UltraExplorer 2.1.0 beta on my Windows7 64bit system. It’s not listed yet on their download section, but I’ll show you where to find it and how well it works on Windows 7.

I recently found a group that is re-releasing a free version of Mechwarrior 4. Initially, the MW4 project release was rumored to be held up by Microsoft. I’m sure there were a few licensing issues that needed to be ironed out. The group is MekTek and to download the release, you have to download and install a (what appears to be) mangled bittorrent/http client that acts a little like the Steam client in many ways. *UPDATED 5-3-10* Read the rest of this entry »

Do you have a PC or laptop that’s not running as fast as you think it should? I’ve seen this often on Dell systems, particularly the Optiplex desktop and the Latitude laptops.

Version 1.4 of Sony’s EULA is included with the latest mandated firmware update. It includes the sentence:
“Some services may be provided automatically without notice when you are online”

I’ve been a fan of HP printers since the mid 90’s when I was given a LaserJet IIIp. It was a workhorse and in the 12 or so years that I owned it, the only maintenance I performed was the replacement of a fuser bulb. The Laserjet 4 series was just as reliable and many of this series are still in use.
