little known postal service laws

Did you know you can’t start your own letter delivery service if you wanted to charge less than the U.S. Postal Service? The U.S. Postal service is pretty much a federally protected monopoly. It started back in 1972 when Congress enacted laws, specifically the Private Express Statutes, based on provisions in the U.S. Constitution empowering Congress to “establish Post Offices and Post Roads.
