Kensington provides exceptional service
An acquaintance purchased a Kensington mobile power adapter to power his laptop. The Model 33404 costs about $90, supports several types of laptop and comes equipped with multiple tips to adapt as needed. One of the tips (specifically tip “e”) worked ok for a few months, then just quit.
After asking around at various retail stores, he asked me if I knew where to get one.
I looked up Kensington and called their support number. I got to talk to a live support person within a couple of minutes and I told them what had happened. The first line out of the lady’s mouth was “we’ll be glad to send you a complementary new replacement tip at no charge”. No wrestling with people, no call transfers, no escalation, they just offered a replacement tip for free.
I just received it in the mail today and it even cost them $1.55 to send it, but they didn’t charge for the replacement.
The only problem I had with the call was the foreign tech support. I did have to repeat my entire address, portions of it, and word spellings several times, but even after this, my next mobile power supply purchase will be from Kensington.
(and no, I wasn’t paid to write this. it’s just good to find a company that offers this type of support)
