WindowsXP still outperforms Vista
ChannelWeb testing delivers more evidence that WindowsXP still outperforms Vista SP1 on today’s hardware. It’s too bad that June 30 is the last day that system manufacturers will be able to bundle Windows XP with new computers. It makes sense for Microsoft though, if new a OS can’t keep up with the old one, just make the old one unavailable, so there’s nothing to compare it with.

I do have one gripe with the ChannelWeb test linked above. They only tested the systems with 1GB of RAM. They should realize Vista needs that just to boot, and both systems would perform better with 2GB
