cyber attack launched from 10,000 webpages
McAfee Avert labs have identified over 10,000 legitimate webpages organized to infect PCs by redirecting them to a malware-laden website. The malware attacks a mix of applications that have been found vulnerable. Of course, once the victim PC gets infected with one piece of the software, it invites all of its malicious friends in through a back door.
Latest news is that the malware attacks via an iframe that is injected into the websites and redirects the visitor to 2117966 -dot-net. (don’t visit that site in your browser) With successful infection, the malware attempts to steal passwords for online accounts.
