Mini-review of GP2XStore.com
(I am NOT in any way affiliated with gp2xstore.com. I am receiving NO payment for reviewing their service)
Although I had never dealt with gp2xstore.com before, I really wanted to get a GP2X, and they were the U.S. importer. Read on for my experience…
Although I have purchased products from overseas before, I like dealing with a U.S. supplier so I have someone to call if I have a problem. When I decided to pull the trigger on a GP2X system, I selected gp2xstore.com because they were an official dealer for the device.
Their first shipment of the unit had sold out when I visited their site, so I pre-ordered one on November 25th 2007 and received instant confirmation of my order. Their second shipment was scheduled to arrive in the second week of December, so I waited until the first week of December and emailed them to check if the shipment was still due the following week. I received a response the same day stating unless Gamepark Holdings(the manufacturer)’s shipping schedule changes, I should still have a GP2X by Christmas. The second week of December, I watched the news page on their site daily to see if there were any changes. The second week was still the week announced as the shipment date, even to the third week.
I emailed them once more on Dec. 18th (the third week) since there weren’t any updates to their news page. I received a quick response that the shipment had arrived the day prior and my unit was shipped. I had paid for Priority shipping, and my GP2X arrived in Virginia three days after shipment from California.
I am quite pleased with my experience with gp2xstore.com and would recommend them over an international dealer. They were quick to respond to my inquiries, even when I didn’t include my order number, (they actually looked it up for me). About a week after it arrived, I received an email from one of the employees of the company, just checking to be sure I received it and was happy with it; something companies rarely do nowadays.
On a side-note, they also sell several other cool products , I may check out later.
